Elevating Women in STEM with the Green Girls

Green Girls, a program created by the City Parks Foundation in New York, inspires young girls to become environmental scientists. The program focuses on science and technology by immersing the girls into surrounding ecosystems for hands on experience. Careers in STEM are male dominated and programs like Green Girls are giving young women confidence to change that.

“A lot of girls want to be actresses or models,” related N’Kaylah Simmons, 17, pausing to develop her thought, “and sometimes I think, do they actually want to be these things? Or is it because it’s the only thing they see?”
